Nettles have a long history of use in the home as a herbal remedy and nutritious addition to the diet. The whole plant is antiasthmatic, anti dandruff, astringent, depurative (purifying), diuretic, galactogogue (increases milk supply), haemostatic (causes bleeding to stop), hypoglycaemic (treats conditions of low blood sugar), and a stimulating tonic.
